India is a country of extremes. One cannot help but be moved by the kindness of its people, the vibrancy of its rituals, the sensual intoxication of its aromas, colours and musical ambience. Deeply rooted in the everyday rituals of this culture is the philosophy of yoga and ayurveda; the inspiration for SANJULA.

In an attempt to bring to the public an alternative to the sticky mat, SANJULA has worked with textile producers in India to develop a beautiful woven cotton surface mat that is ideal for the more meditative styles of yoga. This mat is a 100% natural version of SANJULA's cotton/nylon mat. Instead of using nylon to give it a non-slip backing, this mat has a very fine coating of rubber on the underside. The surface is made of organic cotton and is machine washable, the woven texture gives a level of traction for asana practice and the overall softness of the mat provides the student with a comfortable alternative for their yoga practice.

SANJULA yoga clothes are made from 95% heavy weight Indian cotton allowing the body to breathe more naturally than when trapped in synthetic. To allow the body freedom of movement, the fabric is also made of 5% spandex and in combination, the fabric feels firm across the body yet also has the ability to stretch considerably. As these clothes are mostly free of synthetic, it is recommended that you wash them in cold water only, do not bleach or tumble dry them, and lie garments flat to dry in warm in shaded area. Of course, they will stand up to regular warm machine wash and tumble dry also, but to prolong the intensity of the colour we recommend you follow these instructions.

SANJULA seeks to raise awareness of the wonderful benefits of a yogic practice. In doing so, it is hoped that through one's practice one will experience an understanding of our underlying unity in diversity, thus encouraging the promotion of peace and harmony amongst all humankind.
